Effect Of Sales Force Motivation On Sales Performa Nce Of Industrial Product A Study Of Emenite Company, Emene, Enugu State, Nigeria
Abstract
This work studies the
effect of sales force motivation on sales performance of industrial product.
The objectives of this research work were to determine how sales force
motivation affects sales performance, examine the various ways sales force
motivation affect performance of the organization, determine the extent to
which motivation factors are used by the 11()mpany to influence sales force and
determine how sales force motivation is related to sales performance. The study
was carried out in Emenite Company limited in Ememe, Enugu State. Primary data
were used for data collection by the use of questionnaires and oral interviews.
Simple descriptive statistics were used to analyze the objectives and
chi-square analytical tool used to test the hypotheses. It was found out that
male participants were high and this is due to the labour involved in the sales
force activities. The sales force is mostly dominated by youths and this
implies that the sales forces are active and have experience. Promotion encourages
better patronage. The lack of trust, Lack of skill by the sales personnel and
lack of commitment are the major constraints against effective motivation of
sales force. Recommendations were also made based on the findings.
