ABSTRACT
The marketing of agricultural
produce being at the farm where farmers plan their production to meet specific
demands and market prospects agriculture, Agriculture however is great area
that thus provides a valuable application of the basic tools of supply and
demand, at which it is a problem area, it is on this note that Agricultural
Development Programme Umuahia has embarked on the dissemination of information
and incentives to increase food production and better marketing strategies.
This study evaluates the problems and prospects of marketing agricultural
produce in Umuahia. A study of Agricultural Development Programme Umuahia. The
study has been divided into five chapters, the first chapter deals with the
background of the study, statement of the problem, objective of the study,
research hypothesis, justification of the study and its limitations. The second
chapter deals with review related literature by various authors in the area of
agricultural marketing and prospects. The third chapter explains the research
methodology adopted for the study. Thus a chi — square analysis was used for
the testing of hypothesis. The forth chapter is where data where presented
analysed as well as summarizing of results. Chapter five is the concluding
chapter which summarized the work and put forward recommendations that could be
adopted by producers and prospects who would want to go into the business.
