Abstract
This research work has been design for the study
of the impact advertising on the marketing of detergent product a case study of
elephant extra a product of the PZ industries Enugu. Advertising as defined by
Kolter and Armstrong 205:45 is any paid form of nonpersonal presentation of
ideal. Advertising has been in existence but many business ventures has been no
knowledge of its importance and benefit that is why most business that is very
short while, advertising has also made a great impact in our society by
increasing sales turnover over the years to assume tremendous proportion both
as business activities and as a social phenomenon. The chapter of this work
looks into the background of the study. There we saw that in the past years.
That the producers were only concerned with producing goods that would appeal
to the consumers and making it available to them at low price but with the
accession of the economy and the imposition of various trade restrictions and
the changes in the consumer behavior, producers resorted to advertising as a
means of communication with their prospects through it wasn’t too popular then,
we also have here the statement of problems, indicating why the researcher
embarked on this work, the objectives of the study. Stating what the researcher
intends to achieve after this research work. The significance of the study,
states the importance of the study, the scope also covers the area of study and
the limitations explains the shortcomings of the study based on problems of administering
questionnaires and nonavailability of secondary data. The chapter two of this
work reviews all the past work that relates to this study, which includes the
ones writer also added. It discussed the effects of advertising on our
detergent films competes with one another using the effective promo-tool
(advertising), advertising strategies and budgeting, how business firms should
select their media and how and where to use them. This literature review also
talked about criticisms of advertising and also encouraged business firms to
use advertising in promotion their goods and services for effectiveness and for
high sales turnover. Chapter three discussed the method used in data
collection, the instrument used in data collect, population of the study
sampling techniques, research design and desorption of data analysis tools.
