ABSTRACT
This study evaluates the effect of traditional
and electronic Word of Mouth (WOM) from the Tourism industry via destinations
in Anambra slate. The tourists’ in the studs area formed the population of the
study. Convinient sampling technique ssas implemented; a sample size of 200
respondents ssas used. A ssell structured questionnaire ssas used to obtain the
data from the respondents svhere all ssas completely returned. Data lor this
study ssas generated using a questionnaire, frequencies, simple percentage. mean
and standard deviation was used to analyze the data generated, bindings from
the studs shoss that respondents perceived the overall evaluation of the use of
word-of-mouth on the loutist choice ol destination as effeetise.
Recommendations ssere then given to the effect that tour guides and trasel
agents should employ various aspects of WOM in order to encourage tourists
liaise ssith other tourists by communicating through the use of online travel
communities or through regular consersations, in order to build and foster
trust sshich would positively influence their choice oftravel destination.
