ABSTRACT
The work uses the hypothesis. The hypothesis
tested proved that assessment ofthe effect ofmarketing research is significant
on new product development. This is to say that the inability of companies to
carryout market research has resulted in product failure and others like loss
of cash, low customer patronage, -poor company image, low profit, etc. The
research project is based on assessment of the effect of marketing research on
new product Development: A study on Berger Paint PLC. Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I
! case method and the chi-square method techniques to test the Finally, it was
recommended that effective training programme should be put in place to
acquaint staff of the company with modern and suitable techniques for
identifying consumer’s needs and providing product that will help to satisfy
them. The purpose ofthe study is to ensure or examine the extent to which
assessment of the effect of marketing research will help to solve some market
problems such as; creating a product will meets customers satisfaction as well
as achieve organizational goals, findings whether the success of a company
depend on the effective use ofmarket research in it’s products decision
