ABSTRACT

 The topic of the study is Influence of Entrepreneurship on, the Growth of Nigeria Economy (A study of NDE Umuahia and Abia State Skill acquisition Aba). The broad objective of the study is to evaluate· and determine the influence of entrepreneurship on the growth of Nigeria economy. While the specific objectives were to; Detenninc the extent entrepreneurship have contributed reducing graduate unemployment in Abia Stale, Ascertain the reasons behind the persistence increase rate of poor economic growth despite the huge campaign 00 entrepreneurship, Determine the effect of the role of NOE and skill acquisition on the economic growth of ·Abia State, Ascertain the challenges of entrepreneurship on the economic growth of Nigeria. Methodology, survey method of research was used which allowed for collection of data of qualitative information from the population or the study. Primary and secondary source of data was adopted. The population of the study is 300 which comprises the NOE and skill · acquisition respectively. In detennining the sample size, Taro yanene's formular was adopted. The sample size of the study is 171 of NOE and skill acquisition. Validity was used to evaluate the test which the researcher asked the respondents to examine the objectives and nature of response gotten if I • they are relevant or not. Reliability, the test-retest method was used and 'Cronbach alpha to be used to detennine co-efficient of reliability. Questionnaire pattern was 5 point Likert scale which was used lo gather information from respondents. Method of analysis adopted was chi-square analysis. The key findings of this study indicates that entrepreneurship contributed to the reduction of graduate unemployment in Abia State, thereby reducing the poor economic growth of Nigeria. Finally, recommendation is made that potential graduate should be trained and equipped in entrepreneurial skill, technological know-how, manual alertness and easy access to credit facilities made.
