ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the Effect of Corporate Social Responsibility as a tool to maximize Organizational, a study of Guinness Nigeria Pic, Aba. The Objectives of the study includes; to evaluate the extent of Guinness Nigeria Pic, Aba involvement in social affairs, to determine the role of stakeholders in compliance to social responsibility in Guinness Nigeria Pic, to examine the impact of corporate social responsibility on the organizational performance, to ascertain the challenges of corporate social responsibility in the productivity of Guinness Nigeria Pic. The research design used is the survey method. The total population from management and staff in Guinness Nigeria Pic, Aba is 500, from where the researcher selected a stratified sampling size method of 222. The method of data collection was primary and secondary data methods. The primary data includeface toface interview and questionnaire while secondary data were public library textbooks, internet, journals. Newspapers, past research works, seminar papers. The content validity test is applied to test the validity of the instruments, the researcher used Cronbach alpha to certify the reliability. The data collected were presented on simple percentage tables while Person moment corolelation ofcoefficient statistical tool was used to test the hypothesesformulated. And it wasfound out that the extent of Guinness Nigeria PLC Aba's involvement in the social affairs ofthe society is significant (X2cai = 98.000 > X2critical = 7.815; p < 0.05); there are significantroles ofstakeholders in compliance with corporate social responsibility in the organization (Zcai = 4.403 > Zcriticai = 1.96; p < 0.05); there is positive impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on organizational performance (X2cai = 121.711 > X2Criticai = 7.815; p< 0.05); and high tax andhost violence are significant challenges ofCSR that affect the productivity ofGuinness Nigeria Pic (Zcai = 4.086 > Zcnticai = 1.96; p < 0.05). The researcher recommended that Business organizations should embrace the concept of corporate social responsibility. They shouldput more effort in employing thosefrom the host communities including the unemployed, disadvantagepersons andalsoplace them in areas theyfit in.
