ABSTRACT
This research -work is titled
‘’Effect OfManpower Planning on the Survival and Growth ofFast FoodBusiness ’
’.A good manpowerplanning can play a phenomenalrole in the attainment
ofpersonal andprofessional goals. Manpower Planning concept requires
organizations to effectively integrate employees’ work and non-work roles such
that levels ofmultiple-role conflict, and the associated stress andjob
dissatisfaction, are minimized or avoided. The purpose ofthe study was to
establish the effect ofmanpower planning on the growth and survival offast food
businesses. The objectives are to assess the effect ofmanpowerplanning on the
survival andgrowth offastfood businesses, to ascertain the extent to which
manpower (human resources) planning skill influence organizational
effectiveness and lastly,to determine the approaches ofmanpowerplanning
strategies in the organization. The study adopted descriptive survey and a
study design. The study targeted 50 employees ofApples Fried Chicken, Umuahia,
Abia state the study also made use ofsampling method technique. The primary
data was collected through the use of questionnaires andsecondary data was
obtainedjrompublished documents such asjournals, periodicals, magazines and
reports to supplement the primary data. A pilotstudy was conducted to pretest
the validity and reliabilily ofinstrumentsfor data collection. The
studyfindings showed that independent variables contributed 85% to manpowerplanning.
Flexible working schedule was the most significant factor and had a positive
significantrelationship at 5% level ofsignificance.
