ABSTRACT

 This study was carried out to analyze the effect of training programmes in employee's performance; a study ofBroadcasting Corporation Abia State (BCA), Nigeria was usedas a case study. The objectives ofthe study was to determine whether trainingprogramme play any role in employee performance, also to determine the effect of programme compliance on employee performance and to ascertain the influence oftraining cost on employee performance. A set of structured questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection and administered to 178 questionnaires to the respondent randomly and 168 was duly filled and returned which was selectedfrom a population of 320 using Taro Yamane as a sampling size method. The data was then analyzed using SPSS version. Sequel to the findings, the result revealed that training programmes plays a critical role in the performance ofemployees. In this era ofdigitalization of productions process and globalization which provides both challenges and associated benefits institutions and business organizations must endeavor to provide their employees with not only the relevant toolsfor work but also the required trainings that will promote efficiency in the organization. Furthermore, Training programmes and Training cost show a positive and significantrelationship with employees'performance, this implies that trainingprogram activities in BCA has the potentials to enhance productivity ofthe workers when given the desired attention required. The study recommends that BCA radio station should enhance manpower development as a corporate andmanagement strategy. Itshouldseek to improve knowledge, skills and attitude required by employees to perform adequately on a given task orjob and cumulatively enhances organizationalproductivity.
