ABSTRACT

 This research work was designed to examine the importance of trademarks in the marketing of consumer packaged goods and to know what branding is all about or entails. The problem addressed in this research is sales decline encountered due to poor funding. The methodology used in this research work is observation, questionnaire and interview. The population of 200 and sample size of 133 were used and the X2 statistics was also applied. The major findings were that consumers stick to the companies which they know produce quality product and it helps the company to grow. The research made the following recommendation: they should try as much as possible to practice intensive distribution courage and effectiveness i.e. ensuring that company's product is everywhere. This can be done by improving on their distribution networks.
