ABSTRACT
The study was carried out specifically to empirically
ascertaining the effect of adoption of marketing concept on corporale
profitability with reference to some selected firms in Aba, Abia state. Other
objectives include to.. ascertain the effect of the adoption of marketing
concept on bank return on asset, determine the adoption of marketing concept on
bank return on equity, determine the relationship between the adoption on
marketing concept on return on investment. Primary data was used for the study
and the data was sourced through issuing questionnaires to respondents in their
difference bank. Two chi square statistical techniques and one correlation coefficient
was specy5.' for the study. The empirical results indicated that Marketing
concept has a signicant affect return on asset, also Marketing concept has a
positive signfIcant affect return on equity and there is positive relationship
between Marketing concept and return on investment. It was recoinmendcd that
there is urgent need for the management of the bank to employ more stafffor the
bank that will help in rendering smooth service to the customers and that there
is need for the bank management to deliver training pro gram± through seminars,
publications and guides in order to increase the knowledge of the line managers
and other staff in the retail sector regarding the benefit of being market
oriented.
