ABSTRACT
The difficulty of slicing vegetables for
immediate eating is one that the aggro-processing business must overcome. This
is due to the fact that traditional cutting techniques only involve using
blades and bare hands. This approach has serious harm risks, poor cleanliness,
and inefficiency. Without being cut into slices, vegetables dry more slowly,
run the risk of spoiling, and cannot be preserved for later use. In order to
improve the effectiveness of the drying process as a post-processing step, the
goal of this research is to construct a vegetable slicing machine. Pugh's
design-model was used in the study to create the machine and produce it. First,
the data needed for the design was gathered. The machine was then built in
accordance with the specifications, which called for a 1hp, 1400 rpm motor.
plantain, potatoes and yam were used in testing the prototype. The users were
not injured or found the testing to be easy at any point. In order to improve
the vegetable slicing machine in the future, it is advised to automate the
vegetable feeding process and lower the size.Keywords: Vegetable slicing
