ABSTRACT
This project is to design, construct and install a 2KVA
power &inverter. The components used
to achieve this project were locally sourced and the tiateiials were of
regulated standard. The basic principle of its operation is a simple conVsion
of 12V DC from a battery using integrated circuit and semiconductor at a
frequeney;of50J-Iz, to a 220V AC across the windings of a transformer. It
produced an output of 2KVA, 220V, 50Hz with a modified sine waveform. The 2KVA
is steadier and more reliable than other sources of power. In view of its
reliability, efficiency and consistency than public power supply, it is
recommended that the government at all levels should encourage and support
schools in carrying out more research in other to improve the system
