ABSTRACT

The study examined consumer choice preference and patronage of automobile oil user in Umuahia metropolis. The study examined the factors influencing consumer performance for automobile lubricant, ascertain the relationship between factors influencing automobile lubricant, and rank the factors influencing consumer preference for automobile. Topman formular was used to determine the sample size. Out of 400 questionnaire distributed 354 (97.5%) are distributed to vehicle owners, auto technicians in Ohia mechanic village. Stratified sampling techniques were used and multiple regression was used to analyze the data. It was discovered that customer's look out certain attributes when buying a particular brand of automobile oil lubricate, the attributing are, price quality, Availability packaging size, colour, trustworthiness, promotions and innovation. Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendations are made: lubricant manufactures that want to remain stable in this competitive era, should use. Quality, packaging attribute to trust, availability, promotion in marketing their oil lubricant. Less emphasis should be made on innovative feature and price.
