Analysis Of The Factors That Influence The Location Of Retail Outlets In Aria State, Nigeria
ABSTRACT
This study analyzed the factors that influence the location
choice of retail outlets Abia state Nigeria. The specific objectives of the
study are to examine the soclo-economic characteristics of the retail outlet,
identify the location of the retail outlets, ascertain the products of the
retail outlets and analyze the factors that influence the choice of the retail
outlet location. A random sample size of 70 retail outlets were selected from
Umuahia and Aba, Abia state while a questionnaire were distributes to the
respondent in order to get the required d was found that data. Descriptive
statistic and probit regression analysis were used to analyze the data. From
the findings of the study it was found that 45% Of retail outlets are located
in the urban areas while 25% are located in the rural areas and the rest were
located in the suburb areas. The major factors affecting the location choice of
the retail outlet are retail size, capita!, profit and convenience. It was
therefore recommended that retailers should consider the retail size, profit,
capital, and convenience while locating their retail outlet
