ABSTRACT

The study was an extensive research on the determinants of marketing efficiency of the Palm oil Market in Abia State. The specific objectives of the enterprise were to analyze the effect of capital invested on the marketing efficiency of the palm oil market, ascertain the effect of transportation cost on the profit 'of the enterprise and to determine the effect of price on the sales of the enterprise. The study adopted a sample size of 133 from a population of 200, using Taro yamen's method. A well designed questionnaire was used for data collection and simple percentages and multiple regression were used to analyze the primary' data collected for the study. After the analysis, the study concluded that capital invested, transportation cost, until price and household expenses were significant in determining the marketing efficiency of the palm oil enterprise. Thus, it was recommended that there should be better road networks in Abia State. Such will reduce the transportation cost and price of palm oil in the market. Also, there should be soft loans granted to, the respondents, such will enhance their environment and business expansion.
