ABSTRACT
The objective of this project is the improvement of a
manually operated Aluminum cutting machine. This machine consists of a
flywheel, handle, table, clamp, foot pedal, compression spring, cable, hacksaw
blade, cutting pane all of which were locally sourced. All component parts were
joined by means of welding. After fabrication, performance evaluation was
carried out on the machine by using it to cut aluminum bars and sheets, which
yielded a throughput of 3.6linm2 /s and average efficiency of 79.73%. The
improved Manual aluminum cutting machine proved to be more efficient than the
previous machine.
