Time Series Analysis Of Injured Persons In Road Traffic Accidents In Abia State For The Period (2000-20004)
ABSTRACT
Different hazards affect man
daily. This research work aims at investigating one of such hazards viz number
of injured victims in road accidents. The data was obtained from Federal road
safety Commission, Abia State Sector command RS 9.3, Umuahia. This study is
based on the time series analysis of injured victims of road accidents from
2000 to 2004. The analysis shows how the trend was found, how the data was
detrended, seasonal indexes obtained and deseasonalization of the data was
done. The cyclic — irregular variations were calculated. Forecasting for 2005
was done. Finally, recommendation as to how best to control and eradicate this
hazard was made.
