The Role Of The Library And Information Service In Educational Development:- Nwosu, Joy C
ABSTRACT
The paper discusses the meaning
of library and information service, education and educational development as
well as the various methods of serving the library users with the library
collection in order to achieve educational goals. Other areas covered include
the uniqueness of information service in meeting users' needs and the role the
library and information service play in supporting educational development. It
further presents the picture of library provision in Nigeria's educational
institutions and stresses the need to improve on them to enable library and
information service make the desired impact on educational development in
Nigeria.
