ABSTRACT
The term corporate social
responsibility '(CSR) 1 960s and early 1970 after many multinational
corporations formed the term stakeholder meaning those on whose an
organization's activities has an impact and it was used to describe corporate
owners beyond shareholders as a result of an influential book by Reward
Freeman, Strategic Management: a stakeholder approach in 1984 (Sam et al.,
2011), According to quarters in 17(11 and l8 centuries whose business
philosophy was not primarily driven by profit maximization but model to add
value to society at large, because houses was formed as part of the society and
not separate from it. The resurgent interest in the practice provide a fertile
ground for different discourse and actors this lead to multiple and contested
constructions (Ade, 2013). Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is defined as
the commitment of business to contribute to sustainable economic development,
working with employees, their families, the local community and society at large
to improve their quality of life (World Business Council [or Sustainable
Development, 2004). One 1broad framework used to categories CSR initiatives
includes actions under the domains of employee relations and diversity
programs, ethical materials sourcing, product design, marketing programs, the
environment, human rights, and corporate governance (Okon, 2006).
