ABSTRACT
Surely,
there is no production which is so good that batches of products made at the
same time and at different time will he alike. As sucli, variations arc inevitable.
These variations in the products could be traced to random (chance) causes and assignable
causes. Hence producers are iiccd with the challenges of controlling these
variations during jroduction. This study is aimed at construction of control cilari:s
to check and control the quality characteristics of Kit X soap which will lead
to improvement of the product. The data for this work is a secondary data. The
assumptions underlying the construction of control chart were tested for. These
assumptions include normality, constant variance and randomness. Chi Square
test for nonnality was used for normality while median test and hiartlett test
were used to test for randomness and constant variance respectively. In justification
of assumptions, it was discovered that data for the entire quality
characteristic were not normally distributed. Test showed that the data were
randomly distributed and has a constant variance. Using the Statistical Quality
Control Technique, the process variability and process average were checked
using R chart and X bar chart respectively. On the average it was i iscovcrccl
that thlC company s operatlng under control.
