ABSTRACT

An online food ordering management system is a proposed system that enables ease for the customers. It overcomes the disadvantages of the traditional queuing system. Our proposed system is a medium to order online food hassle free from restaurants as well as mess service. This system improves the method of taking the order from customer. The online food ordering system sets up a food menu online and customers can easily place the order as per their wish. Also with a food menu, customers can easily track the orders. I was motivated to embark on this research because of the manual method of going to the local food sales outlets to purchase food which is becoming obsolete and more tasking. The system was achieved by developing a platform for an online food ordering management system, design a platform that allows the users and employee to register their product, build a database structure used to store a database that keeps record of all food ordered by the customer, design a platform for products and services offered that would provide the customers with all the different categories of available products that they can choose and select from, create a platform that provides a user friendly environment between the customer and employee thus increasing the efficiency of the food ordering system, design a platform for an online purchase platform with which valued customers will be using to get in touch with any of their request whenever the need arises, design a platform for online purchase order, design a platform for type of food provided. This system also provides a feedback system in which user can rate the food items. Also, the proposed system can recommend hotels, food, based on the ratings given by the user, the hotel staff will be informed for the improvements along with the quality. The payment can be made online or pay-on-delivery system. For more secured ordering separate accounts are maintained for each user by providing them an ID and a password. The application was realized through the adoption of water fall model. In this work, the results are obtained by designing a system using HTML, PHP and MYSQL as the database.
