ABSTRACT

 This work investigates the impact of stress management on employees productivity in organizations. Excessive stress proves to be harmful for an individual. It ultimately leads to compromised health and loss of productivity. The main objective of this study is to investigate the impact of stress management on employees productivity in organizations, using Wema Bank Nigerian Pie as a study. This study adopted a qualitative research method to carry out the findings. Primary and secondary sources of data were used for this study. Primary data were collected with the help of a well structured questionnaire and secondary data were collected from past journals, text books and internet. The data obtained was analyzed using descriptive statistics and measured by the four (4) point liker! scale. The result of the findings shows that pressure at work, control and decision latitude, work and family life, long working hours, and high workload are the major causes of stress in the organization under study. Also job stress on employees has a significant effect on the productivity of organizations which can lead to low production capacity in organizations, failure of the organizations to meet set goals and objectives, and as well as decrease in productivity of employees. Mean while the identified stress management programmes are not effective on the productivity of organizations. The study therefore recommends that working environment be continuously monitored for stress related factors. Further, it is not only important to monitor the factors, but to create a healthy environment in which employees' work in efficient way and there should be a proper reward system which would motivate the employees to do work in an efficient way.
