Impact Of Strategic Planning Implementation On Organizational Effectiveness (A Study Of Pz Cussons PLC, Starline Ltd And Eagle Plastics Ltd Aba)
ABSTRACT
The study seeks to examine the impact· of : strategic planning on organizational effectiveness in the manufacturing organizations. The objectives of the study are to determine the factors that affect strategic planning implementation in organizations, investigate the operational efficiency of strategic planning at the productivity of organizations, and the ·evaluation of mission, vision statements in organizational effectiveness. The' study was carried out on a population of 320 with a sample size of 172 respondents and this was determined using simple Random Sampling Techniques. The researcher adopted survey and ex-post facto research designs, and used the student's t-test to analyze the data collected. The study ascertained that strategic planning is a top management job and a tool that provides guidance in fulfilling a mission and vision with maximum efficiency in an organization. Lack of commitment of practitioners when implementing strategic planning has been identified as a barrier to successful implementation of strategic planning. However, the researcher tested four null hypotheses with the use of the T-test and SPSS tools with a result that strategic planning is a significant tool to organizational effectiveness. The study reveals that strategic planning is relevant to; organizational profitability, quality product, customer's relationship management (CRM) and sales volume. The researcher recommends the adoption of strategic planning process to organizations that wants to survive.
