ABSTRACT

This project work focused on GPS and GPRS Based Telemonitoring System for Emergency Patient Transportation.The aim of this research project is to develop a data a transfer and navigation system into a telemonitoring system for the purpose of facilitating information passage between the operators of the telemonitoring system and ambulance drivers in Hospital for the emergency transportation of patients. The challenges of the existing system were; problems of using pen and paper in providing patient medical records, Lack of immediate retrieval, Lack of immediate information storage, Preparation of accurate and prompt reports. Based on findings, this research work gives the possible e solution to the above problem. In order to achieve the goal of delivering high-quality medical resources in primary care settings in an effective way, the role of GPS AND GPRS is currently promoting the establishment and implementation of a hierarchical treatment system, aiming to accomplish more efficient allocation of treatment by promoting primary care with two-way referral mechanism, within acute and chronic patients while integrating centralized efforts and at the same time strengthening more local efforts as well. Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM) were adopted in the analysis and the programming language used for the development of the proposed system are HTML, PHP, CSS, and MYSQL. The research concluded that successful implementation of this software would solved the problems encountered from the existing system and facilitated fast decision making and possible recommendations are; Simple basic program should be written to assist the information seekers (patient), the management should renew the website hosting fee every three month to avoid the deactivation of the site from web, the admin should be active online to avoid hackers.
