ABSTRACT

The study examined effect of work life balance on female workers productivity in local government areas of Cross River State, Nigeria. The need to increase female productivity necessitated this study. Specifically the study examined the effect of flexible working schedules on female working class productivity in Nigeria, assessed the effect of alternative work arrangements on female working class productivity, determine the influence of leave programs on female working class productivity in Nigeria.  The study used primary sources of data in achieving its objectives. The population of the study is 101 while sample size of 80 was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula. Using clustered mean the study found that there is significant effects of Flexible working schedules on the productivity of working class female in local government in Cross River State government in Nigeria was 3.22 which was accepted, this therefore implies that Flexible working schedules has effects on the productivity of working class female in local government in Cross River State government in Nigeria in South East Nigeria. On effects of alternative work arrangements on the productivity of working class female in some selected local government in Cross River State government in Nigeria, the clustered mean was 3.13 which was accepted, this therefore implies that alternative work arrangements have effects on the productivity of working class female in some selected local government in Cross River State government in Nigeria in South East Nigeria. Result on effects of Leave programs on productivity of Working class female in local government in Cross River State, Nigeria reveals the clustered mean as 3.09 which was accepted, the implication is that Leave programs has effects on productivity of working class female in local government of Cross River State, Nigeria in South East Nigeria. Flexible working schedules has significant effect on the productivity of working class female in local government in Cross River State government in Nigeria (t = 4.45***; p = 0.000 < 0.05) Alternative work arrangements have significant effect on the productivity of working class female in some selected local government in Cross River State government in Nigeria (r = 0.589^**;  p = 0.000 < 0.05). Leave programs has significant effect on the productivity of working class female in local government of Cross River, Nigeria ((t = 4.615***; p = 0.000 < 0.05). The   management of the organization should imbibe self-roistering as part of the flexible timing procedure; it tends to enhance the employees’ abilities, interest and zealousness towards their jobs in the organization. It brings about good quality products too.
