ABSTRACT

Evolving from the 21St century is an era of global computing. There has been a revolution from stand-alone application to network distributed application. This has been due to the wide spread and adoption of the Internet and Intranet technologies, which afford the dissemination of information to anybody, anywhere, and anytime. It has now become the tool for global competitiveness. This research work is aimed at including the tourism paths in Umuahia on the information superhighway for tomorrow. Chapter one, introduces the Internet and Tourism in Nigeria. It further provides the historical background, objective, scope and limitations of the study, statement of problem and defamation of terms. Chapter two, the literature review, reveals the evolution of the Internet, the concept of tourism and its impact on the society under several sub-headings Chapter three discusses the research methodologies, the analysis of the existing system and the proposal of a new system. Chapter four discusses the design of the new system. It discusses the structure, input and out methods, and mode of operation. II vi Chapter five discusses the implementation of the new system and the system requirements and cost. Chapter six reveals the conclusion and recommendation of the research project.
