ABSTRACT

We are in a dynamic world where nothing remains the same for too long. Information storage and retrieval was done manually decades ago. Today, it is being forced out gradually in all areas of our day-to-day activities. Most banking operations are computerized, so also for inventory and control general ledger system. Chapter one introduces the subject matter in a simple but clarified form. The history of the institution was discussed. It also states the problem that leads to the study of the work. The scope, which the design will cover, and the procedure were also described. Chapter two reviews the literature of the word "computerization". What led to the use of computers and the application of this computerization in different field of work? The impact the computerization has created in office work and the new ways of organizing works were immeasurably discussed. The methodology and the analysis of the existing system were immeasurably discussed in chapter three. Chapter four discussed the design of the new system. It described the security specification, the input specification, the output specification and the storage specification. The system requirements were also discussed. Recommendation, conclusion and appendices were discussed in chapter five After the development of the software, some requirement has to be made in other to use this package successfully. Those requirements were discussed in this work. The main work of design i.e. the programs that made the design to be were shown in this work together with the database where information are stored for future or subsequent retrieval. Finally, a good number of suggestions on how to improve the software were given out together with the references and the conclusion.
