ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to investigate the different level of crimes and network based security information system, the police communication department Umuahia was were emphasis was laid upon. The activity of the police is to ensure security and avoid unauthorized entrance into a network also avoid illegal tampering of files and document, furthermore they ensure the safety of lives and properties of every individual and organization within a society. This project work researched into the various types of crimes in our society and penalties apportioned to it, the -I police communication department provides relevant information on how to nurture crimes and create a better atmosphere for individuals in the society. The procedures and organization of information as required. by the police communication department coupled with observation and interaction between police men on duty this work is carefully analyzed and a new system with its sophisticated features handles data entry, storage, manipulation and retrieval with ease. It is timely, very accurate in processing, easy to use and comprehensive in report generation. It will eliminate or reduce the rate of crime and increase security in our society, also reduce the tiresome, stressful and tedious nature of work on police men on duty.
