ABSTRACT
The wedding industry is a dynamic
and multifaceted sector that demands meticulous planning, efficient resource
allocation, and seamless execution. The concept of a Decision Support System
(DSS) tailored specifically for wedding event management. Such a system is
designed to enhance the decision-making process for wedding planners, couples,
and vendors involved in orchestrating the perfect wedding event. The wedding
planner is a java web application which helps to organize successful wedding
events for users. This application provides an easy way to plan their special
events. The user can add all the details of the event and can get the service.
The user can select the type of event, type of food to be served, type of
decoration and estimated budget. All the details given by users will be
verified by admin. Admin will add all the details of the planner based on the
requirement of the user and send the user’s event details to the planner. The
planner will verify and send his response with a confirmation mail. The user
needs to complete the payment process to confirm the order. The project
employes a Rapid Application Development (RAD) to achieve its objectives. The
Rapid Application Development (RAD) method is used as the software development
methodology for implementing this system. Rapid application development is a
form of agile software development methodology. Unlike Waterfall methods, RAD
emphasizes working software and user feedback over strict planning and
requirements recording. In other words, RAD is less talk, more action. While
RAD de-emphasizes strict planning, there are still a handful of steps or phases
each development project goes through when using the rapid application
development methodology. The objective of this study focusses on providing the
facility to enter vendor’s services and goods to the web application, provide
facilities to register the wedding couple, view required goods & services
and managing guest list, managing the budget against supplier’s goods and
services, planning, scheduling, monitoring and evaluating all the activities
related to the wedding.
