ABSTRACT

In order to maximize the benefits of infrastructure in a city's structure for urban adaptation and improvement, there is a need to support decision-makers in the urban design domain with adequate information that would help them to locate such infrastructure in the most suitable places. Therefore, the aim of this study is to discuss a novel decision support system (DSS) for the location of infrastructure. The goal of the proposed solution is to provide users better infrastructure as at when needed, where needed and in adequate numbers. The fully editable component of conditions allows for testing projections of the potential locations where these infrastructure are needed the most. The study provides a DSS for use by local authorities which enables them to concentrate actions in order to better adapt cities to developmental changes and improvements.
