ABSTRACT

The automated way bill management information system is vital to the management of an organization or establishment. This is as a result of frequent increase in the use of automated machine (computer) based way hilt management information system with design sped lie on John Holt Plc. Port harcourt on Which attention was focused on way hilt system of' the shipping department of the company. Data for the work were collected through oral interview and practical observation. Information about the project work were collected and analyzed. The new computerized system was designed with the help of web development approaches which include hyper-text mark up language (IITMI), Active Server Page (ASP), Javascript, and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) using Visual basic (VB) to iot1uce the web-based codes. it maintains adequate records of customer's registration, order of products for shipment and the way bill generation at large. It automatically handles booking of specified quantity and generates prompt result on way bill status of such customer. there is also an existence o l the procedure design that shows the procedure codes to every operation done on the work. Finally, the system shalt be a portal and will serve both the product order/handling of John Holt plc and their customers on the other side. The system is friendly, easy to use, web-based, accurate in report generation and versatile.
