ABSTRACT
In the PZ cussons plc, truck loading and material off-loading
are important and complex process and an optimal truck time allocation can
result in significant savings. In this paper, a truck load allocation and
service scheduling model is formulated using simulation approach that accommodates
certain parameters such as service
scheduling for the day and truck load and material off-loading time allocation based
on the arrival time of any truck. A real time hauling framework, which consists
of service setup panels, service scheduling panel and service scheduling list
and summary model. A model truckload and off-load is developed to compensate
for changes in the certain key operating parameters. The use time model helps
the truck allocation system to adapt to random operational changes. The effectiveness
of the truckload time allocation, when couple with model truck job scheduling
is shown to be a viable implementation framework in quoining operations
