ABSTRACT
The importance of accounting is gradually being recognized
as germane to prudent management of any institution firm. This has necessitated
the need for the computerization of structured operations Of the Accounting
managers. Structured operations are known with certainty for instance, the
computation and decisions based on accounting ratios. This project therefore
describes the computerization of the accounting of an institution. Thus this
study gives detailed methods for the development of an optimal Accounting
database for an institution. It manages student's payment and takes record of
all expenses made during the course of the running of the institution,
generates report for the management's consumption. The project was designed
with Visual Basic.Net, using Microsoft Access as the database. The method of
analysis used is the structured system analysis and design method in which we
developed the software using the waterfall model. The research work aims at
removing the anomalies associated with the record of student's payment details
and details of the income and expenditure of the institution for proper report
generation and presentation.
