ABSTRACT Word checker is a software feature that checks for misspellings in a text. Spell-checking features are often embedded in software or services such as a word processor, email client, electronic dictionary or search engine. An alternative type of word checker uses solely statistical information, such as n-grams, to recognize errors instead of correctly-spelled words. This approach usually requires a lot of effort to obtain sufficient statistical . information. The problem statement focus on how the teachers spend more time on checking student spelling on paper one by one and student’s difficulty to spell correctly in their book. Also building word checker web based application is time constrain, denied access to data collection and power source was a bigger problems. The project focuses on the development of word checker application management information system that enables users to practice for subjective spelling tests and learn how to spell correctly. The objectives of this research are to develop a platform for automated word checker application management information system, develop a platform that enables admin to login and take care ofregistration, develop a platform that enables the student to take word spelling quiz, develop a platform that enables the teachers to check word spelling ofthe student, develop a platform used for word checker ranking, build a database to store information ofthe teachers and the student, build a database to record the mark ofthe student. This research was realized through the adoption of primary and secondary sources of data collection which includes interview, observation, questionnaire, the internet and the adoption of waterfall model as the research methodology. The system is implemented by using HTML as front end, PHP as back end and MYSQL as the database.
