ABSTRACT

The synthesis of amoxicillin complex· of Mn {II) and Co (II) were performed by the reaction of {amoxicillin with MnCl».4H»O and CuCl».2HO respectively. The solubility of the complexes was -~ determined. It was observed that the complex of amoxicillin and manganese was soluble in t ] water, acetone and sparingly soluble in ethanol and the complex of amoxicillin and copper was ·1 sparingly soluble in water and ethanol but insoluble in acetone. The UV visible of the complexes i showed ligand to metal charge transfer (LMCT). The infrared spectra showed the involvement lo OH and CO in coordination to the metal ion. Amoxicillin behaved as a bidentate ligand. The ·1 ~ ability of amoxicillin to sequestrate Mn and Cu is hereby assured.
