Time Series Analysis Of Relative Price Of Cassava Tuber In Abia State Of Nigeria

ABSTRACT

This is a time series Analysis Of Relative price of cassava tuber in Abia State for six years (1996 - 2001). The aims of applying time series are: The monthly interval of the data, to verify the time series model that influence changes in the relative price, if growth exist in the trend and to forecast future prices of cassava tuber. Computer analysis revealed the prominence of long term trend. Model were obtained, on isolation of trend, stationary is realized by the application of partial auto regressive moving average model is obtain. Based on these results, some recommendations are preferred as follows: Government should further subsidize inputs such as fertilizer and stem cuttings prices. Machination should be applied with vigour and cassava specialist be employed. Government should not embark on storage of the plant as its price is not affected by season.
