Time Series Analysis Of Monthly Summary Of Fire Outbreak In Imo-State.

ABSTRACT

The data used for the study was collected from the fire service headquarters, Owerri over a period of seven years (1999-2005). A time series analysis was carried out on the data using MINITAB. The analysis indicated that the time plot was not stationary as was seen in appendix A. And it as differenced to provide a better model capable of explaining the properties of the non-stationary series. (Appendix E). The autocorrelation function graphs were also plotted. Moving Average (MA) of order I was fitted as the most appropriate model for the data. Based or this model, forecasts were made. See appendix H. Finally, recommendations and conclusions were made.
