The Time Series Analysis Of Tuberculosis In Abia State. A Case Study Of Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, Abia State. (2003 — 2007)

ABSTRACT

The study was carried out on Tuberculosis Cases using Time Series Approach. The Federal Medical Centre, Urnuahia was used as the case study. The data used for this project work were secondary data extracted from patients card at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia. The data were used to determine if there is an increase or decrease in the estimated annual reported cases of Tuberculosis at the Federal Medical Centre, Urnuahia. Also we determine the exact increase or decrease rate of the reported cases of Tuberculosis at Federal Medical Centre, Urnuahia. It was observed that there is a decrease in the reported cases of Tuberculosis patients at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, since the gradient of the line is negative (- 11.0). from the analysis oldata, the parameters a and b were measured to be 93 and - 11.0 respectively. however, the equation of the linear trend was found to be Yt = 93 — lIt.
