ABSTRACT

The research critically examined 'the relevance of planning and control measured in enhancing business organizational performance in Lagos Airport Hotel. In the study, the questionnaire was used to collect data with a target population of 68 respondents out of which 50 responded and the data collected were analyzed using the weighted mean as a statistical tool to determine agreement or disagreement with the research questions. It was, therefore, discovered that Lagos Airport Hotel applies certain and not all aspect of planning and control measures in its daily operation while the Hotel succeeds in applying planning and control measures in mitigating certain and not all problems encountered in its operations. Also, the research revealed that Lagos Airport Hotel carry out certain activities with laid down procedures while the resultant effects of proper planning and control measures in enhancing the overall performance of Lagos Airport Hotel were revealed to bring about increased output; improved organizational performance and customer satisfaction, by delivery of quality service and products. Hence managers of Hospitality industries are advised to take into cognizance the relevance of planning and control measures in enhancing business organizational performance.
