ABSTRACT

For a lecture of this type, it is proper to start with appreciation. First is to God almighty, from whom all blessings flow. His love for us is steadfast and never ceases, despite our weaknesses as man. Secondly, the university management, and especially the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Maduebibisi Ọfọ Iwe. Without his approval, the organizing committee led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nneọma Ọbasi would not have bestowed me this rare historical opportunity, that at most happens twice in a decade. Thank you. I however wish to state that I was, may be still, reluctant about doing this. Indeed, the first person to inform me of the decision to ask me to speak was Prof. Ifeọma Ijeh.
