Statistical Quality Control Study: A Study Of Ebony Paints:- Okoli, Rita C.

ABSTRACT

 The data was collected from monthly files ofthe Quality control departmentofEbony Paints Industry. In this work, die actual measured quality characterstics ofBone white speedy Emulsion and Bone white speedy oil paint were considered January 1997 to August 1999. The ultimate objective ofthe study was to construct control chart whih could be used to study the production process ofthe quality characteristics ofthe two types of paints. The statistical quality control technique used for this study was process control (by control chart devices). The quality characteristics investigated was the viscosity in Kp and the grade level in grammes per litre ofthe two types of paints. For a more stable process variablity and mean, the points that lie outside die warding and action limits were discarded and the control limits were revised. At the end ofthe study, it was concluded that Ebony Paints should not be rejected for its purpose. Thus, absolute rejection oftheir product should r. be based on dieir standard not diis estimated standard (control limits).
