ABSTRACT

This work addresses the problem of solving linear integral equations using the Neumann series iterative method. Particular attention is paid to the Fredholm and Volterra integral equation of the second kind. It is shown that (i) boundary value problem can be reduced to appropriate integral equation. (ii) linear integration of the third kind can generally be reduce to linear integral equations of the second kind. (iii) to successfully apply the Neumann series iterative method in solving those linear there linear integral equations and thus ensure the appropriate convergence of the resulting Neumann series the parameter needs must be small, that is, must satisfy some a prom bound. Several concrete examples are use to illustrate the discussions in this work.
