ABSTRACT

The samples were faeces, walls, floor, rodents and flics. The pig farms were located in Ikwuano. Umuahia North detected in the study herd, multiple serotypes of Salmonella were causing endemic infections in the study herd. A six month study was pigs, and Salmonella contamination of piggerv environment and slaughter house environment, collected from healthy swine and piggen’ environments like feed, water, was resistant to almost all the antibiotics used in sensitivity testing. results showed the necessity ol adopting more effective hygienic measures in the abattoirs as well as in the areas where swine
