ABSTRACT
Phytochemical and proximate analysis of Tetrapleura tetraptera were
carried out in order to identify and evaluate the secondary metabolites. The
phytochemicals — alkaloid (1.45%), flavonoids (0.22%), saponin (0.17%),
tannin (0.21% and phenol (0.11%) were tested for i the plant sample and
found to be present. The mean percentage compositions of the plant
samples were evaluated, compositions such as moisture content (7.97%),
ash (10.34%), crude fibre (37.05%), crude protein (8.70%), crude fat
(8.97%) and carbohydrate (26.96%). The plant T. tetraptera can be use for
pharmacological and nutritive benefits.
