ABSTRACT
Bone marrow is the spongy tissue inside the bones in the body, including the hip and thigh bones. Bone marrow contains immature cells called stem cells. Bone marrow is also called myeloid tissue soft, gelatinous tissue that fills the cavities ofthe bone. Bone marrow can be found in almost any bone that holds cancellous spongy tissue (Farhi et al., 2009). Bone marrow’s popularity as a food is now relatively limited in western world, but it remains in use in some gourmet restaurants, and is popular among food enthusiasts [La petit Bouche et al., 2011]. The bone marrow contains two types of stem cells; mesenchyral and hematopoietic. Red bone marrow consists of a delicate, highly vascular fibrous tissue containing hematopoietic stem cell. These are blood-forming stem cells. Yellow one marrow contains mesenchymal stem cells, or marrow stromal cells. These produce fat, cartilage, and bone (Alana et al., 2021).
