ABSTRACT
In this project work the chloroform extract from Neem leaves (Azadirachta indica) was subjected to Thin Layer Chromatography, Phytochemical and pesticidal analysis. The Pesticidal activities of different extracts of Neem leaf were studied. Results showed that the methanol fraction of the Neem extract have pesticidal activity on the macro organism (Eciton burchellii) used. The result of the Phytochemical screening reveals that Terpenoid 4.253±0.17 (mg/g), Alkaloids 4.474±0.109 (mg/g), Saponins 8.185±0.061 (mg/g), Flavonoids 4.343±0.047 (mg/g), HCN 0.34±0.02 (mg/g), Tannins 0.0601±0.0003 (mg/g) were found to be present. Extensive thin layer chromatography profile of the crude and partitioned plant extracts revealed different Phytochemicals using different solvent system.
