ABSTRACT
The Petition Management System (PMS) is a comprehensive digital platform developed to streamline and enhance the management of petitions and public appeals. In an era marked by increased civic engagement and the use of online petitions as a means of advocacy, the PMS serves as a vital tool for both government agencies and advocacy groups. This system facilitates the efficient submission, tracking, and resolution of petitions in Tertiary Institutions, promoting transparency, accessibility, and students' participation in the decision-making process within the University. Key features of the Petition Management System include user-friendly petition creation and submission, automated petition tracking, and real-time progress updates for petitioners. It offers robust administrative tools for government agencies, enabling them to manage incoming petitions, assign tasks, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders. The system was designed using HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the frontend, while the backend was designed using PHP and MySQL for Database Administration. The system provides data analytics capabilities for monitoring trends in public sentiment and issue advocacy. The Petition Management System represents a valuable asset for modem governance, fostering a closer connection between citizens and their representatives while ensuring that petitions are processed systematically and transparently
