ABSTRACT

Fifty (50) samples of urine were collected at random from the female students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, to determine the prevalence of Candida albicans among the female students population. Out of the fifty samples tested,20 (40%) were infected with Candida albicans while 3 0(60%) had no Candida infection. Female students with mean age of 18 ± 3 were mainly affected. This could be attributed to poor personal hygiene and/or probably poor hygienic condition of the female hostel.
