ABSTRACT
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It primarily affects the lungs but can also affect other parts ofthe body such as the kidneys, spine and brain. The history of tuberculosis dates back thousands of years. Evidence of the disease has been found in ancient Egyptian mummies, indicating its presence in human populations since at least 2400 BC. Throughout history, tuberculosis has been known by various names such as “consumption” due to its debilitating effects on the body
